Good sake! Seishu Chitosetsuru.

Sake brewed in Hokkaido

This time I would like to introduce the sake I enjoy drinking at a local izakaya, Japanese style pub, that I often visit.

This is “Seishu Chitosetsuru”, the representative sake of Chitosetsuru (Nippon Seishu Co.).

Whenever I go to this izakaya, I always order this sake warm. In the summer, I enjoy it warm at 104°F(Nu-ru-kan), and in the winter, I enjoy it warm at 113°F(jyou-kan). One sip and it “permeates every fiber of my being” in Japanese expression. All the fatigue of the day disappears with one sip. At the same time, I am grateful to be still alive today and to be able to drink delicious warm sake.

I have been drinking this sake for over four years and never get tired of it. It does not interfere with meals and is a really good sake. A long time ago, the novelty goods and posters for this sake had the catchphrase “The best sake, Chitosetsuru”. Even now, this is still written on the decanter for this sake. Frankly, I agree.

What is “good sake”? I thought about it in my own way.

Delicious. Off course

Never get tired of

Affordable

That’s always around me

This sake meets all of these conditions. And I can’t help but be grateful that I live in a town where I can drink such good sake any time.

The izakaya that I mentioned before, always has several types of premium sake on offer. But I’m not interested in them. Drinking them would help the izakaya’s sales, but there’s nothing I can do about it. Sorry, chief.

It’s now 5:30pm on Friday, and I’m waiting for the izakaya to open at 6pm.
