Sake brewed in Hokkaido

Today I would like to introduce Kunimare, the flagship product of Kunimare Brewery. I knew that there were many fans of this sake, but for some reason I had few opportunities to encounter it. This time I would like to review this sake.

First, I tried it Hiya (room temperature) as usual. I breathed a sigh of relief. I honestly thought this was good sake.

First of all, it has a great balance. It’s easy to drink and goes away upon swallowing very smoothly. It’s really delicious.

Next, I tried it Nuru-Kan (104°F). The acidity stands out mildly and it’s exquisitely delicious. Of course, it also adds to the umami.

Today’s snack is miso stewed beef offal, and it goes well with that. It’s the perfect combination for the cold winter in Hokkaido.

The label on the back of the bottle instructs that this sake is recommended to be chilled (room temperature) or Hitohada-Kan (human body temperature) at 95°F.

This may be just my personal preference, but I like my sake warm to body temperature in the summer. So I’ve decided to wait another five months before enjoying this sake at the temperature. I can’t wait for summer this year.
